We have specialized programs to improve Balance and Motor Recovery after Stroke. Patients with COPD will benefit from our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program.
Walter J Gaudino MD MSPT is Board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He began his health career when he earned his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University. He then completed a year in Internal Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook. His Physiatry training was done at Temple University Hospital. He has been in private practice since 1998 and he teaches Physicians training in PM&R at the Nassau University Medical Center. He also lectures frequently to the Physicians at NSUH Plainview. He currently holds an Associate Professorship level in PM&R.The therapists on his team have over 45 years of combined experience in all aspects of Physical Therapy. Also a licensed Massage Therapist is on staff.
He evaluates each patient and formulates a program that is unique to your condition to maximize recovery. He works with a team of certified therapists and exercise specialists to optimize your therapy and treatment. Your progress is monitored frequently and adjustments are made to ensure that you reach your maximal potential as soon as possible.
During the exercise sessions your blood pressure, heart rate and O2 saturation are frequently evaluated to ensure that the exercise is at an appropriate level and not to strenuous. You will receive evaluation and treatment in a convenient safe, pleasant environment . Most patients are able to start their treatments the same day.
